Heartland end Gombe’s unbeaten run

Gombe United failed to extend their unbeaten run to four matches in the Premier League as they crashed 2-0 to Heartland FC in Owerri.

Saibou Badarou’s fourth minute goal settled nerves before Jolly Osas found the net to complete a routine win.
Four minutes into the clash at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Heartland went ahead and the home fans applauded them for the early stunner.
Kelechi Ekeh crossed from the right and Badarou connected with his head but his effort was parried by Chigozie Agbim to his path. The Togolese import made no mistake with the rebound.
At the other end, Gombe United had the chance to even the scoreline. The ball sat invitingly for Maurice Chigozie just outside the Heartland area but he was wasteful with his effort.
