INEC to distribute PVCs in Ogun next month

 
The Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Ogun State, Mr. Sam Olumekun, on Thursday, said the residents of Ogun State would get their Permanent Voters Cards by September.

He said this in Abeokuta at a stakeholders’ forum on governance, peace and political stability, organised by the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, Ogun State chapter.
Olumekun while speaking on the topic, “Towards a free, fair and credible 2015 general elections in Nigeria,” said the INEC was still on the second phase of the project, and that it would be Ogun State’s turn in September.
He said, “The INEC has injected a new innovation; we have moved from temporary voters’ cards in 2011 to the level of issuing Permanent Voter Cards. Where we are now is second phase.
“In the third phase, it will be Ogun State’s turn, which will commence next month. The second phase will end this August.”
