Hyundai Motors Nigeria Limited and Diamond Bank Plc have jointly inaugurated a vehicle finance scheme aimed at assisting fleet managers and prospective automobile patrons to procure affordably priced Hyundai vehicles.
According to a statement by the organisation, the scheme will enable its clients to access the scheme without necessarily paying conventional bank interest rate.
The statement explained that the initiative named ‘Hyundai/Diamond centenary offer’ was designed to allow beneficiaries to access bank loans to buy select Hyundai cars and offset the credit in 48 equal monthly instalments without paying management fee or presenting any collateral.
The Head of Sales and Marketing, Hyundai Motors, Mr. Jatin Nadkarni, who was quoted in the statement as saying this at the inauguration ceremony in Lagos, explained that the credit scheme was in line with Hyundai strategy and direction to make vehicle acquisition a seamless experience.
He said successful customers would enjoy series of other offers including free insurance cover for one year, free registration, free service for one year, free tracking devise and an Apple iPad for every car purchased.
The company announced starting a price of N57, 000 for Hyundai Accent car, N66,000 for Elantra; N91,000 for Sonata and iX35, while the Azera, Santa-Fe and Genesis would attract N110,000; N124,000 and N148,000 monthly payments, respectively.
He dismissed chances of risk in the credit facility, stressing that Hyundai Motors with Diamond Bank had integrated the vehicle acquisition plan to enable many customers including those without functional accounts with the bank to embrace the facility.
He said, “I still can’t see the wisdom in patronising tokunbo cars that doesn’t come with service history, let alone offering value for money; which to me means, inheriting the liability of a previous user that for some reasons, disposed of the car.
“What we are simply doing here in collaboration with Diamond Bank is to help prospective buyers to starve-off the burden of sourcing funds in one fell-swoop to buy a new car when you can simply buy and begin to drive a Hyundai car of your choice and pay at your convenience.
“The evolving needs and preferences of prospective vehicle buyers prompted this campaign, which essentially will lessen the burden of owning a serviceable car. Our objective therefore is to provide the best products and services to our customers and enable them to enjoy value-added experience.”
It noted that vehicle credit facility had become a common practice in advanced markets and more relevant now in view of the Federal Government’s National Automotive Industry Development Plan aimed at encouraging the patronage of new vehicles, particularly home-made cars.
